About the Business
After two busy years of selling their furniture in what was effectively the first "pop up" shop, Avril and Walter felt inspired to find their own space. They wanted to be in a small High Street that would have a local community feel. In 1989 an opportunity presented itself, a lovely Georgian building in Highgate Village which became their new permanent home.
Highgate Village proved the perfect place to grow and fill their ambition to build a business based on friendly service, attention to detail, word of mouth recommendation and a policy of going that little bit further, to make sure WCD clients get the best possible experience when shopping.
To create beautiful functional pieces of furniture in natural woods, or a combination of various materials, made with a passion for design that reflects a customers' individuality. WCD are happy to go to our customers' homes, look at the space and sketch up some suitable ideas on a complimentary basis.
