About the Business
Marriotts Furnishers was formed in 1926 by Ted Marriott. In those days most small retail furniture shops made their own bespoke furniture, Marriott's was no exception. We began by manufacturing, upholstery recovering and cabinet making. During the war (1939 - 1945) our premises was converted a wardens post and in 1948 the showroom was expanded to incorporate 91 New Road.
Over the next few decades the premises has developed into what you see today covering 91 - 103 New Road Portsmouth. What has not changed over the past 89 years is our desire to sell quality & keenly priced furniture with a fantastic level of service to all our customer in Hampshire and the surrounding areas.
